Getting started with VR Cleaning

A quick guide to getting your business set up on VR Cleaning

Getting started with VR Cleaning

First, thank you for choosing VR Cleaning for your cleaning management needs! Getting set up is easy and soon you'll be good to go.

  • Log in to your VR Cleaning account and click the green Create Business button and enter your business name. If you are a cleaning business it would be the name of it or it can just be your name.
  • Enter your basic settings on the Business Settings page (you won't be able to go Live yet.)
  • In the Manage Business menu, choose Users and click Invite User to invite the owner of the first home you want to add and check the Homeowner checkbox to set them as a property/home owner. You can also invite your cleaner(s) and set the Cleaner flag on them at this time too. Note for Homeowners: If you own the home and/or are doing any of the cleanings, click the Edit User link next to yourself and add the Homeowner and/or Cleaner flags as needed.
  • At this point you can wait for the homeowner to accept their invitation, or if you don't want to wait you can edit yourself and add the Homeowner flag temporarily.
  • In the Manage Business menu, click Properties/Homes. Enter the number of properties (homes, apartments, etc.) you are cleaning and click Subscribe. Follow the prompts to complete payment and activate your subscription. You can find full details for our pricing in our Pricing article.
  • Now back on the Properties/Homes you can add your properties. Click Add New Property and fill in the property details then click the button at the bottom to add it.
  • To automatically pull in your bookings from AirBNB, VRBO, or other listings sites, click the Imported Calendars link next to the property and enter the iCal URLs. You can add as many as you need. For more information on where to find them, check our Imported Calendars article.
  • That's it, now just wait for the cleaner(s) to accept their invitations.

That is your basic set up, from there you just have to keep cleaners assigned to your bookings as your regular task. Go to the Upcoming Bookings page, you should see your future bookings and see the fields for choosing the cleaner to do them. Simply select the cleaner(s) to assign to them and click the Update Assignments button at the bottom. Your cleaners will simply log in to the site and click the Your Cleanings button on their dashboard to see their cleaning assignments daily.

From there we have several optional features to make your life easier, like:

  • Auto-assign Cleaners: You can have cleanings set automatically to a particular cleaner or round-robin amongst your cleaners for each property.
  • Cleaner Payouts: Run a report on your payroll schedule to automatically calculate how much to pay each of your cleaners.
  • Cleaner Bank Payouts: In combination with Cleaner Payouts, your cleaners can optionally link their bank account to receive their payment instead of you having to write a check or pay them via other methods manually. You can enable this on your Business Settings page if it interests you.
  • Homeowner Billing: Run a report with how much each homeowner owes for their cleaning service and bill them. We support many payment methods you can choose to accept from Credit Cards, eCheck Payments, PayPal, CoinPayments (cryptocurrencies), Venmo, or you can enter manual payment instructions such as to mail you a check. You can enable this on your Business Settings page if it interests you.
